VIDEO: Michael Kiwanuka – I’m Getting Ready (with cello)

This time one year ago I fell in love with Michael Kiwanuka’s music and was honoured to see him supporting Adele in Amsterdam due to this video. This time round, he is headlining his own show in Amsterdam but I missed out on a ticket as it sold out like lightning. Here’s my video of I’m Getting Ready, which now I propose that I perform with Michael, since there is no way I can get a ticket now…

I’m everywhere (uevverall)

Since acting as a cellist in the latest Nokia commercial, I somehow gave the impression that I am an actor, which is not entirely the case. It led me to being asked to play an extra in a Dutch commercial competition, and from that acting experience I am now a child-model for new German label Uevverall. Child-model because I am too short to be a real model… Continue Reading →

The Swedes behind PressPausePlay

The Swedish-made documentary PressPausePlay was screened privately to my colleagues and I (digital marketing department of adidas) before it was scheduled to premiere in Amsterdam. I had been following the documentary trailers for over a year and it even screened in Australia before in Amsterdam, so this was great news for me. And the biggest treat: the handsome Swedes Philip Marthinsen and Fredrik Axling from the production came to present. Continue Reading →

Bollino Vla met Chocolade Bolletjes

In May 2011 I blogged about Knibbel Knabbel Vla, which became my Dutch addiction for some months. Shortly after the promotion period ended I was left depressed with no dessert that could fill its shoes (or my tastebuds).

But after coming home from a trip to Sweden, what did I discover on my shelf in the fridge? Continue Reading →

Beautiful cello music in Vondelpark’s Open Air Theatre

The Open Air Theatre in Amsterdam’s Vondelpark was stage to beautiful music on the weekend. Classical cello music to be precise. It was perfect for the outdoor setting: a relaxing yet emotional kind of music with the sun shining on our faces and shoulders while sitting in the stands (which reminded me of watching tennis at the Australian Open!).
